I excused myself as my tennis friends were waiting for me.

Two weeks later I met him at the club and he said, "Thank you, you help me to make up my mind."

He went on to climb the political ladder at the State and Federal level. Sadly, whenever I met him after that at some functions he always avoided me or pretended not to see me.

It hurts, but my wife reminded me "Just be yourself, if he greets you, talk to him, if he ignores, let it be."
